Sibongile's journey started in a small village where airplanes were hardly part of everyday conversations. She didn't have fancy toys, but her eyes lit up every time an airplane soared above. That childhood fascination with aircraft set the stage for her remarkable story.

Fast forward to 2004, and Sibongile had spent 17 years at SRS Aviation, a journey filled with ups and downs. The company even gave birth to Aero Metals, making parts for brand new airplanes.

I have a philosophy that I’m where I am today because somebody invested in me. It’s my opportunity now to invest in other people.

But the road wasn't smooth. In 2000, she tried starting a business in cleaning and security, but her heart wasn't in it. Her true love was airplanes. So, she took a bold step, leaving a secure job to dive headfirst into the aviation world.

Getting money to start her venture wasn't easy. Banks said no because aviation seemed too risky. That's when Sibongile's mother and aunt stepped in, borrowing pension money to support her dream. Fast forward 17 years, and SRS Aviation is not just a success story; it's a tale of determination and passion paying off.

Sibongile's leadership style is about being open and inclusive. She believes everyone in the company should share the same vision. Leading a business, she says, requires being flexible and quick to respond to challenges. She's not just a leader; she's a leader of the future.

Running an aviation business has its challenges. Money is one of them, and so is finding and keeping skilled employees. But Sibongile faced them head-on. Now, her company has grown into different areas like making parts for big airplane manufacturers and even getting into technical training.

Through it all, Sibongile hasn't forgotten to give back. Her company is involved in programs that teach young people about aviation careers. Since 2006, they've won awards, proving that hard work pays off.
